Summary of Experience


Dr. Thomas Dydek is a Ph.D., Board-Certified toxicologist and Licensed Professional Engineer with more than 30 years of continuous experience in the environmental field.  His consulting services include human health risk assessments, hazardous waste site remediation evaluations, expert witness testimony and other litigation support, toxicity reviews and health effects evaluations, product safety evaluations, and assistance with regulatory agency air quality and hazardous waste disposal facilities permitting and compliance matters.

Dr. Dydek has a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's in Environmental Engineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas.  His doctoral degree is in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina School of Public Health.  He has also done a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Toxicology in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Dydek’s professional activities include active membership in many technical associations; service on various City and State citizen committees in the areas of air quality, risk assessment, and solid waste management; and acting as Adjunct Professor in the Environmental Health Division of the University of Texas School of Public Health in San Antonio (1987-2000).  He has attended more than 130 technical environmental conferences and made presentations at more than 30 of these meetings.

Dr. Dydek has provided expert testimony in more than 250 toxic tort cases and regulatory agency Public Hearings.  He has given about 50 depositions and testified at trial 10 times over the past 20 years.  These cases have involved exposures to chemicals such as solvents, pesticides, metals, and petroleum products in the community, in occupational settings, and in other indoor environments.  He is an independent expert, having provided testimony for plaintiffs and for defendants.
